The University of Leeds’ existing self-guided tour was hidden within the website as a static PDF—lacking interactivity, clear navigation, and visual engagement. For Gen Z offer holders, this format failed to inspire confidence or excitement. Without dynamic elements or gamification, the experience missed the opportunity to support independent exploration and reduce first-year anxiety.
Solutions
I reimagined the self-guided tour as an interactive mobile app, powered by Augmented Reality. The app features a digital campus map, poster-activated AR content, and a badge-collection system that transforms passive touring into a rewarding adventure. Designed specifically for digital-native users, this solution merges information, play, and technology to create a confident, memorable introduction to university life.
